Frequently Asked Questions

  • You do not need insurance to have a subscription to Arbor Internal Medicine. However, your subscription only covers primary care done by Arbor Internal Medicine.

If a patient is referred to a specialist, sent to ER or admitted to a hospital they would benefit from having insurance to cover these costs.

  • You can see your physician whenever you need via scheduling an appointment. Your physician’s goal is to be available for appointments when you need them. Also, for your convenience, your physician is also available via virtual visits, calls and texts to address your health concerns.

  • Lab services are provided at Arbor Internal Medicine office. The lab draw cost is included in your monthly subscription. The cost of testing the blood is a cash price that will be available to the patient prior to the lab being drawn. If a patient has insurance and would like the lab to be billed through their insurance that can be done as well.

  • It covers all your annual visits, chronic care visits and sick visits. On-call services for urgent matters are also covered. Some in-house testing is included while others may be purchased for an at-cost cash price. See Membership & Services for more information.

  • As of July 2024, we are pleased to announce that Arbor Internal Medicine now accepts Medicare patients. Due to the laws surrounding Medicare billing, patients with an Arbor Internal Medicine membership and Medicare will have their Medicare insurance billed for in-person office visits. There are no extra co-pays beyond the monthly subscription fee. This subscription includes access to HealthBook+, an amazing medical record application that you can control! For more information about this innovative feature, please visit the HealthBook+ tab.

  • Can I still be a patient with Arbor Internal Medicine?

YES! The slight complication is that Dr. Danielle Ivey cannot be your PCP on your HMO card and your insurance will not recognize any referrals she places as valid. Some HMO patients have a traditional PCP who is approved for their HMO that they see once a year and provide necessary referrals. Then they are cared for by Dr. Ivey throughout the year regarding chronic care management, sick visits, medical questions and urgent concerns.

  • There is a discount for couples and families (children ages 17-26).

There is also a discount for paying semi-annually and annually vs monthly.

See our signup page for discounts.

  • No. Our belief is that a large part of providing high quality medical care is being seen by a consistent provider every time you are seen in the clinic. This allows them to truly get to know you and recognize specific patterns in your health. Arbor Internal Medicine is a physician-only practice.

  • Your physician will notify you prior to any vacations or planned office closures.

Your physician or a on-call physician will always be available via phone even when the office is closed. The on call-physician will manage any acute/urgent issues and communicate with your physician about any non-urgent issues to be addressed when they return to the clinic.

  • No, all your visits, phone calls and messaging are included in your subscription price. Procedures, some in-office tests (ex: covid-19 test), medications and vaccines will be offered at a wholesale cash price to be added to your monthly invoice. You will be notified of the cash price prior to any procedure/testing/vaccine so you can determine if you would like to proceed with it.
